Bob began his investment industry career in 1998 and joined Stifel in 2011. Prior to Stifel, he worked for Morgan Stanley, Citigroup Global Markets, Inc., and Banc of America Investment Services, Inc.
Taking a holistic approach to wealth management, Bob not only reviews his clients’ individual investments, he also assesses their risk and liability concerns, including insurance and annuities. He believes in developing well-allocated investment plans based on his clients’ goals, experience, and comfort level with risk. A well-allocated investment plan includes (but is not limited to) common and preferred stocks, bonds, mutual funds, exchange traded funds (ETFs), and cash. He also incorporates dividend-paying equities where appropriate for income and potential growth of principal. On occasion, he will employ alternative investments in an effort to round out his clients’ allocation.
Bob will also collaborate with outside money managers to utilize their resources and expertise, particularly in such specialties as options and derivative investments. He believes in delivering and maintaining a high level of contact and communication with his clients whenever possible to better serve their needs.

My investment philosophy is goal-focused and planning-driven – sharply different from an approach that is market-focused and current events-driven. I neither attempt to forecast the economy nor try to time the markets.
All of my relationships begin with a set, dynamic planning process and evolve as your needs evolve. This is crucial in order for me to gain an accurate understanding of your full financial picture. Once I have a formal plan in place, I craft a customized strategy to help you pursue your short-term and long-term financial goals. I incorporate a variety of investment, cash flow, and estate planning strategies. I seek to create a balanced, diversified portfolio with exposure to a variety of asset classes to help mitigate risk. I pursue your needs through an open architecture platform, allowing me to access and objectively evaluate a broad universe of investments.
I use a variety of investment vehicles to help you pursue your goals, including, but not limited to, common stocks, preferred stocks, bond, mutual funds, exchange trade funds (ETFs), and – where appropriate – alternative investments, including private equity and real estate. I evaluate macro and fundamental research to identify quality stocks and style (growth versus value). I take a long-term view of investing and focus on companies that have a history of strong free cash flow, profitability, and that I believe have growth prospects. Most of the stocks I propose have a proven track record of consistent earnings and flexibility to pay and potentially grow their dividends. I also believe it is essential to not only diversify across asset classes, but within asset classes as well.

Diversification does not ensure a profit or protect against loss. When investing in dividend-paying companies, changes in market conditions or a company’s financial condition may impact a company’s ability to continue to pay dividends, and companies may also choose to discontinue dividend payments.
